Gould’s Fiber Amplifier Wavelength Division Multiplexers (WDMs) allows a pump laser to amplify the desired signal wavelength. The goal is to increase the transmission distance and amplify the distance the light signal can travel without regeneration. Gould’s Fiber Amplifier Wavelength Division Multiplexers (WDMs) are ideal for Erbium Doped Fiber Applications (EDFAs), long haul, metro and access networks.
Our WDMs are a fused coupler product manufactured using the fused biconical taper process on fully software controlled automatic fabrication stations. The process consists of placing two or more fibers adjacent to each other, then fusing and stretching them to create a central coupling region. Gould’s Fiber Amplifier Wavelength Division Multiplexers (WDMs) can be manufactured using Corning Purmode fiber operating in the 980/1550 and 1060/1550 wavelength ranges or 980/1550nm using OFS CL 980-16 fiber type. Available in 1×2 port configurations. Custom options are available upon request.
