Fiber Optic Packaging & Module Enclosure solutions
Standard lead color coding for a 1X2 or 2X2 couplers/Splitters
The orange lead designates the primary input, blue designates the primary output. Secondary input and output fibers are natural. For a non 50/50 coupling ratio, the larger percentage coupling ratio will always be on the blue lead. For example, in a 10/90 coupler. 10% will be on the natural lead and 90% will be on the blue lead.
Standard lead color coding for WDMs:
In a 1310/1550nm Wavelength Division Multiplexer/Demultiplexer, blue designates the 1550nm wavelength, or the higher wavelength port; and natural designates the 1310nm wavelength port or the lower wavelength. The orange lead designates the common port.
Packaging Solutions -Fiber Optic Modular Boxes/Enclosures
All of Gould’s package enclosures accommodate a variety of coupler configurations. Each package has a serial number for complete traceability. Input/output ports are marked alphanumerically on the front panel and can be either buffered fiber leads or bulkhead connectors. The enclosures withstand an operating temperature range of -20 to +70°C. All enclosures are wellsuited for table top applications and feed-through holes can be drilled to allow for permanent installation. Lead length for 900 micron loose tube and KevlarTM reinforced leads is 0.5 meter.
Gould’s coupler products can be packaged in a variety of packaging options for couplers in central office and outside plant environments. The polycarbonate coupler organizers are stackable for port configurations of 1 x 16 and 1 x 32. The trays can be easily modified to be compatible with many industry standard fiber management systems and are available with various connector styles. A mini splice tray is easily added to the coupler housing for splice protection and easy access in the field.

The high power rated components made of fused PM, Single mode and Multimode fibers are built with outstanding heat dissipation packaging and design considerations and exhibiting an exceptional optical performance.
