At Gould Fiber Optics, we strive to provide our customers with high quality fiber optic products and services. Our aim is to exceed the expectations and meet the technical requirements of our valued customers. That’s why we employ a variety of quality control measures on raw materials and manufacturing processes. To further ensure reliability of our high quality fiber optic products, each one has complete traceability via its unique serial number to raw material lots, process parameters and workstations. Every component is also subjected to a rigorous burn-in test to confirm reliable performance in the years to come. Lastly, all products are individually tested and inspected prior to shipment, to guarantee specification conformance. This meticulous attention to craftsmanship and subsequent test results is documented on a formal data sheet accompanies each unit shipped.
The RoHS (Restriction of Hazardous Substances Directive) directive aims to restrict certain dangerous substances commonly used in electronic and electronic equipment. Any RoHS compliant component is tested for the presence of Lead (Pb), Cadmium (Cd), Mercury (Hg), Hexavalent chromium (Hex-Cr), Polybrominated biphenyls (PBB), and Polybrominated diphenyl ethers (PBDE) as well as for Cadmium and Hexavalent chromium.
Gould Fiber Optics pledges to use environmentally safe materials and processes in our high quality fiber optic product manufacturing facilities. Our goal is to meet or exceed all environmental regulations related to the elimination of hazardous materials used in manufacturing. We are committed to providing our customers with environmentally safe products compliant with RoHS directive.
Our Quality Policy was developed as a means of expressing the Company’s commitment to providing its customers with products that meets or exceeds their expectations and to continuously improve all aspects of the organization to better address those customer needs.
Component reliability is an essential requirement for any application. Gould understands the need for reliable performance, and was the first major coupler supplier to conduct long-term reliability studies on coupler components. Gould continues to maintain an on-going program to study and enhance the reliability of our coupler products. A number of tests including damp heat, repetitive temperature cycling, mechanical shock and vibration, and thermal aging are used to accelerate the adverse effects of harsh environments on product lifetimes. Reports on test completed in accordance with Telcordia GR-1209 and GR-1221 are also available.
